Wednesday, October 28, 2020 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

On October 28, U of G’s Provost, Dr. Gwen Chapman, will host an engaging session for instructors that will provide an opportunity for all of us to reflect on teaching, learning and academic course delivery in the context of COVID-19. We recognize that shifting to primarily remote delivery was not easy for the fall semester and that many courses will continue in this fashion for winter 2021. The intent of this session is to bring to light successes and challenges experienced across the campus community, and to use this information to benefit future planning.

As a comprehensive, research-intensive university known to deliver an exceptional student experience, it is important that we use an evidenced-based reflective practice to inform our decision making. As such, Provost Chapman will present results from a fall ’20 student experience survey and reflect on prevalent themes. The aim of this is to highlight what is going well and to inform the work of instructors as they continue to learn about working in this mode.

After Provost Chapman’s presentation, we will hear from representatives of both the undergraduate and graduate student associations as well as two faculty colleagues who will share their personal successes and challenges from this fall.

We hope that this session will support our instructors as they continue their work to transition to largely remote learning. The session will be recorded and posted on the Provost website for those unable to attend.
