Kick-off Event for Be Well, Be Safe Week:
Fostering Safety: Physically and Mentally with Keynote Speaker Rob Ellis, Founder of My Safe Work
Join with us to kick off Be Well, Be Safe week with speaker Rob Ellis. Rob Ellis became an outspoken advocate for health, safety and wellness in the workplace after the death of his son David in 1999. At the age of 18, David Ellis was killed in a workplace accident. He was given limited training and no supervision. It was his second day on the job. After his death, David’s father, Rob Ellis, started MySafeWork, a not-for-profit organization and registered charity.
Rob Ellis will be providing a moving keynote presentation which will share his personal story of starting My Safe Work and focus on three areas of health and safety:
- Communication beyond texts and emails
- New life coaching in your workplace
- Mental stress management in your workplace.

Are you considering reaching out for mental health support and just don’t know where to start? Many others might be feeling the same way! Starting therapy to support your mental health can be an intimating experience, especially if you’ve never done it before and don’t know what to expect or who to get support from. It takes strength and vulnerability to begin the journey and reach out for support.
Attend this session to learn more about what to expect from psychotherapy, who can provide it, how to find a therapist and ask any questions you might have.

Voices of Joy: Exploring Persona Poems
“Voices of Joy” invites participants to explore the essence of joy through persona poetry, embodying the perspectives of objects or places that bring them joy.
Through guided writing prompts and sample poem readings, we’ll uncover the beauty and significance of everyday items that bring us happiness. This workshop offers a creative journey of introspection, connection, and poetic expression.
