Dr. Ryan Norris, a professor in the College of Biological Science, explained how climate change is affecting species reproduction to the Toronto Star.
Norris commented on “phenological mismatch,” the phenomenon in which two organisms that usually interact with each other at the same time are no longer in sync. He said some species may be able to adjust to annual cycles of the phenomenon and keep stable populations.
A professor in the Department of Integrative Biology, Norris researches the behaviour, conservation and evolution of migratory birds, insects and mammals.
