Dr. Chris Dutton, a consult veterinarian at the Ontario Veterinary College, answered a listener question about why some animals are resistant to domestication for an episode of CBC Radio’s Quirks and Quarks

Dutton explained domesticating animals can take multiple generations and controlled genetic breeding to be successful. 

An adjunct professor in the Department of Pathobiology, Dutton studies zoo and exotic animals and wildlife.
