Prof. Steve Crawford, a marine biologist with the Department of Integrative Biology, spoke to Radio New Zealand’s Nine to Noon program about his recent research into white pointer shark behaviour off New Zealand.
Crawford has been engaged in a multi-year research project that combines social and natural science using different knowledge systems, such as Maori knowledge as well as traditional science, for white pointer conservation ecology.
Recently, he has interviewed people who have observed mating of white pointers for the first time off the Otago Peninsula.
