The University of Guelph community joins others in Canada in mourning following Monday’s tragedy in Toronto.

At least 10 people were killed, some of them believed to be students, and more than 15 injured when a man driving a cargo van intentionally struck pedestrians on Yonge Street in Toronto.

“This is a shocking and devastating tragedy,” said president Franco Vaccarino.

“Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, as well as other people who have been affected by this heartbreaking and senseless act of violence.”

Some members of the U of G community may have been directly or indirectly affected by these events.
