U of G’s College of Biological Sciences Office of Educational Scholarship and Practice presents a special guest lecture with Peter White from Michigan State University.

White discusses how instructional videos changed teaching and learning in an introductory biology course. All are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

A Word from Pete:
“My approach to teaching and learning is rooted in three main principles. First, learning environments should be interactive and learning-centered. Second, instruction should employ backward design, focusing on higher-order learning outcomes. Finally, students should be given the opportunity to engage in authentic scientific investigations, learning science by doing science. These three principles are widely regarded as best-practice principles, supported by a wide array of empirical studies. My pedagogical approach is geared at shrinking the divide between instructor and student.”
