Ontario Agricultural College professor emeritus Dr. Gard Otis told Global News why people may see more wasps and hornets than usual at this time of year. 

As wasp nests grow in size and in population throughout the mid to late summer, there is an increased pressure on them to gather food towards the fall, explained Otis.  

Retiring after 36 years as a professor at U of G, Otis researched bee and other insect behaviour at the School of Environmental Sciences
