The University’s strength is in its people and those who go above and beyond to make this an institution we can all be proud of. Each year, we celebrate outstanding staff with the President’s Awards for Exemplary Staff Service to recognize these remarkable individuals and their contributions. Consider nominating a deserving colleague for these awards!

The President’s Awards for Exemplary Staff Service are awarded annually to staff members who have exceeded the expectations of their normal employment responsibilities. Nominate a colleague who you feel goes above and beyond every day.

Employees selected receive $2,000 (less applicable taxes) and are recognized during an annual community event. Teams share the cash prize.

Four award categories are available: two for individual nominations and two for either a team or individual nomination. Award categories are:

  • Award of Excellence in Wellness, Health and Safety (individual or team)
  • Hidden Hero Award (individual)
  • Innovative Leadership Recognition Award (individual or team)
  • Service Excellence Recognition Award (individual)

The deadline for nominations is March 1.  To nominate a colleague complete the nomination form and tell their story. In 500 words or less, describe how they have made extraordinary contributions beyond what is normally expected in their job.   

All non-academic full- and part-time U of G staff who have been employed at the University for at least two years are eligible for the awards. Learn more online.
