Help shape gender equity efforts at U of G. Nominations are being accepted for faculty, staff and students to join the GenEQ: Advancing the Status of Women at the University of Guelph Advisory Group. Participants reading quotes and ideas on GenEQ wall at launch event

The GenEq Advisory Group is comprised of faculty, staff and students who have an interest in advancing the status of women on campus.  Since its inception, the Advisory Group has hosted International Women’s Day events, speaker series and has begun work on leadership/mentorship programming and on issues facing graduate students. The group is also actively working on celebrating women by sharing stories on women’s research, scholarship, service and contributions to the campus and community on our website.

The GenEQ Advisory Group uses an inclusive definition of women that encompasses cisgender women, transwomen, genderqueer women, two-spirit, non-binary and gender non-conforming people who identify as women. Diversity of perspectives is important in our work to better understand the experiences of all women in our University community. The Advisory Group especially encourages applications from those who self-identify as Black, Indigenous or People of Colour. Nominations are welcome for people of any gender, as well as those who are interested in learning how to be an ally and advocate for women on campus. Expertise in gender equity is not a requirement to serve on the advisory group.
