Join us as Scottish Studies students present their research and as we celebrate their remarkable achievements with a reception.
After the revolutions of 1688, the Jacobite movement posed a very serious challenge to the legitimacy of state structures throughout Scotland, England and Wales, and Ireland. The University of Guelph’s renowned Scottish Studies Collection boasts an outstanding array of Jacobite-related materials that speak to the complexity of the Jacobite movement, the deep divisions it generated, and broad alliances in which it was implicated. This fall, Scottish Studies undergraduate and graduate students have been exploring these extraordinary sources in collaboration with Archival and Special Collections, as they prepare to curate a forthcoming exhibit, to be launched in 2023.
Early registration is encouraged as seating is limited.
The event is supported by the Centre for Scottish Studies, the Department of History and Archival & Special Collections (McLaughlin Library) at the University of Guelph.
