Dr. Sara Mann

To further advance Lang’s mission, I am pleased to share that Dr. Sara Mann will assume a five-year appointment as Dean, effective February 12. Dr. Mann has a proven track record of exceptional leadership and since May 2022, has served as the interim Dean. In this time, she has prioritized consultation with our internal, external and community partners while simultaneously, launching Lang’s new five-year Strategic Plan. By design, the Strategic Plan will lead the college into the future by focusing on enhancing Lang’s reputation for excellence and leadership in sustainability; creating leaders for an inclusive future; research excellence; educational innovation and exceptional student experience; and fostering strong external partnerships.

Dr. Mann is deeply committed to Indigenization, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and has launched a new college-wide EDI Advisory Board. She continues to focus on creating a safe and inclusive space for all students, faculty, and staff, being a strong corporate citizen, generating revenue and advocating for business as a force for good.

“It is a tremendous honour to continue to serve as Dean for Lang,” shares Dr. Mann. “Business as a force for good is in our DNA and our students gain a unique understanding of how responsible and sustainable business practices can Improve Life here in Guelph and around the world. I look forward to advancing our mission and positioning Lang on the global stage.”

As Dean, Dr. Mann will continue to build on Lang’s commitment to global leadership through both research and experiential learning opportunities for our students, while also strengthening our relationships with our valued Lang alumni, donors and community partners who play a pivotal role in enabling the success of our students.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Mann on her appointment.

Thank you,
