Safety protocols remain in place

Earlier this week, the provincial government announced that it will remove proof of vaccination requirements as of March 1, 2022. At U of G, our COVID-19 safety protocols – and our community’s adherence to those protocols – have been instrumental in keeping everyone safe as we returned to our classrooms, labs and workspaces.

U of G intends to uphold our COVID-19 Vaccination Policy until the end of the winter semester. In the weeks ahead, the University will review the policy in light of the changing landscape and provide an update in mid-March.

U of G’s existing COVID-19 safety protocols remain in effect, including the following:

  • All those over age 12 who come to our campuses and facilities must be vaccinated.
  • Medical-style masks are required indoors and outdoors whenever 2 metres of distance from others cannot be maintained. Mask wearing will continue to be enforced in our buildings and facilities.
  • All those coming to our campuses and facilities must complete the U of G COVID-19 Daily Screening Form and follow its direction before arriving. Remember: If you are sick, stay home.

In addition, we strongly encourage everyone in our community to receive a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Staff returning to campus throughout February

In January, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health rescinded its work-from-home instruction. Throughout February, units across the University are returning employees to on-site work. Employees can expect to return to on-site work this month, based on their area’s operational plan.

Operational plans for staff returning to our facilities may include temporary hybrid arrangements in which staff work on-site some days and remotely on others. U of G’s Flexible Work Policy addresses a number of flexible work arrangements.

The Return to Campuses website provides essential information for those coming to campus. If you need to be on campus, make sure you complete the U of G COVID-19 Screening Form every day before you arrive.
