Research Connections is a campus-wide research fair designed to help students explore what research looks like at the University of Guelph. Whether you’re curious about volunteering in a lab, looking for a summer job, considering an undergraduate research course, or thinking ahead to graduate school, this event is your starting point.
Date: Monday, Feb. 9, 2026
Time:
- 5 – 5:30 p.m. – Student registration and entry into Research Connections event
- 5:30 – 7 p.m. – Presentations, information booths, networking, and discussion
Location: In-person, on-campus in Peter Clark Hall (University Centre; take the south elevators to level zero)
What to expect:
- Learn about current research projects happening across campus
- Explore opportunities such as work-study positions, volunteer roles, grad school, USRAs/URAs/ISURAs, and paid summer research jobs
- Get advice on how to reach out to researchers and build connections
- Learn about services on campus that can give you a competitive advantage in your next application, e.g., resume/cover letter writing, interview skills, peer helper and career advisor services.
- Explore information booths from key departments on campus that can help you along your undergraduate research journey and help prepare you for life after graduation.
- Socializing and networking in a fun, casual, and accessible setting
- Free food!
Who should attend?
Students across all majors and degree programs are welcome! Whether you’re contemplating pursuing research, looking for your first opportunity, in your last before graduating, or you’re a seasoned researcher and want to provide mentorship and guidance to those newer to research, there’s something for everyone.
