Join us on Thursday, Sept. 25 as the Department of Human Health Sciences celebrates the inaugural launch of the Institute for Lifestyle Integration of Food and Exercise (LIFE) by hosting the 1st Institute for LIFE Symposium.
This half-day event will feature presentations by graduate students and a keynote address by Dr. Jonathon Little (University of British Columbia), who will present “Sweat, Sugar and Science: Evidence-based Exercise and Diet Strategies for Preventing, Managing, and Reversing Type 2 Diabetes.” The event will highlight the importance of lifestyle medicine approaches in healthy aging and as a therapeutic intervention for many major health challenges facing society today.
The symposium will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Arboretum Centre. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. All faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members are welcome. For those unable to attend, the event will be both livestreamed and recorded.
