February 27 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

A watercolour of many different people walking in a crowd.

Canada has signed and ratified key international agreements including on disability, Indigenous rights, race, the environment, economic and social rights and others. Reports from civil society organizations and researchers suggest that the implementation of these agreements is only partial, resulting in fewer supports and services for people with disabilities in Canada and abroad, and more people becoming disabled.

Join a conversation with civil society leaders and researchers about the implications for people with disabilities of Canada’s failure to implement international agreements, and the role of women, girls, and gender-diverse people with disabilities in leading responses to these failures.

This event is the first in a series co-hosted by the Live Work Well Research Centre (liveworkwell.ca) and Dr. Leah Levac’s Canada Research Chair in Critical Community Engagement and Public Policy. Watch for other upcoming events on the topic of Countering Policy Exclusions.
