PhD student Aaron Fairweather

Aaron Fairweather, a PhD student in the Ontario Agricultural College’s School of Environmental Sciences, discussed the importance of ants with CBC Radio’s As It Happens

Fairweather commented on new research that estimates there are 20 quadrillion ants on the planet, and said ants play a key role in our ecosystems. 

Fairweather’s researches eusocial insect behaviour, including colony establishment and foraging as well as the sublethal effects of neonicotinoid pesticides on bee and ant behaviour.
