On International Women’s Day, the Government of Canada is highlighting the importance of amplifying the voices of all women, particularly those who continue to face barriers to success, with their theme Strength in Every Story.
The UN has a complimentary theme: For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment. Both of these themes highlight the need to elevate the voices of all women and women-identifying members of our community, regardless of race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, or other intersecting identities.
At the University of Guelph, we know that celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of women and women-identifying individuals around the world is a critical part of building a more inclusive future for everyone. there are many initiatives and programs aimed at supporting women and girls.
