As U of G comes together to support the annual United Way campaign, every donation, no matter the size, is a profound act of community building and compassion. By contributing, you help United Way empower essential programs and services and respond to emerging needs in the community as they arise.

For example, when the Sanguen Health Van faced potential closure, United Way stepped up with funding to ensure the service could continue providing vital health services to community members in need.

Help us reach our goal

One of the easiest ways to contribute to the United Way campaign is by donating online. Remember that the deadline to submit a payroll deduction and be entered into the grand prize draw is Dec. 12!

Donate to the United Way.

But our annual United Way campaign is not only about giving to our community – it’s about strengthening our community, and this year the campaign’s focus is on building engagement across campus.

There are still lots of ways for you to support the campaign before it wraps up at the end of December.

Campaign highlights

To date, we have raised over $290,000, and with your help we can meet our goal of $450,000 by the end of the campaign.

United Way ambassadors across the University have invigorated campus with a variety of events and engagement opportunities:

  • Hospitality Services’ Trick or Trivia had a fantastic turnout with over 250 attendees.
  • Open Education continued with their annual Halloween Coffee Break Social during which they hosted a meaningful United Way presentation and Impact Presentation.
  • Experiential Learning hosted a Souper Bowl and Dessert Derby featuring several home cooked soups and baked goods with proceeds going toward the United Way.
  • The Department of Athletics hosted both a United Way Home Opener Football Game and a United Way Weekend where $1 of every ticket to every game sold went toward the campaign, as well as a Halloween Fitness Class and Great Head Shave event.
  • Physical Resources brought back ghost tours of U of G main campus.
  • Alumni Affairs had a chili cookoff and hosted a United Way impact speaker.

A huge thank you to our ambassadors who made the United Way campaign possible and to all of you for helping us make an impact on our local community!
