We are aware of the far-reaching impacts of the escalating violence in Israel and Gaza and of the concern members of our community may have for their safety and mental wellness.

We want to remind you that the University takes the safety of our campus community seriously and has many measures in place to support faculty, staff and students in an emergency. These include regular patrols of our campuses by our Campus Safety officers and emergency phone lines if you need help. If you are feeling unsafe please connect with the Campus Safety Office.

In an emergency call: 519-840-5000 or ext. 52000 or call 911

For a non-emergency call: 519-824-4120, ext. 52245

We also want to remind our community members of the personal safety tools available:

  • Download the SafeGryphon app to access all the personal safety tools available. The app has a button that dials directly to Campus Security or 911.
  • Register for U of G alerts to receive notifications of emergency incidents on campus and instructions on how to respond to protect your safety.

We ask everyone in our community to be watchful and offer support to those who may need it. Please also direct any faculty, staff and students who might need assistance to the following resources:

Sincerely,

Sharmilla Rasheed
