Dr. Faisal Moola, professor in the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences, spoke to the Toronto Star about how humans are experiencing the impacts of climate change this summer.

Moola  pointed to the devastation caused by wildfires in Canada and Europe, saying climate change is being felt in a very personal and visceral way. “Our day can actually be ruined by climate change,” he said, referring to lost time in nature.

Moola is a professor of ecology and environmental policy in the Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics. He works with First Nations communities in defence of their lands and is widely published in scientific journals on ecology, conservation biology and environmental policy.
