Computing and Communications Services (CCS) continues to update security measures to further protect the University and user accounts. Changes are scheduled this month for the single sign-on and multi-factor authentication (MFA) processes.
Feb. 21: New Microsoft Single Sign-on Process
Beginning Feb. 21, logging in to your U of G account will look different. Instead of seeing the current U of G single sign-on page, you will be presented with a new Microsoft single sign-on page and process.
What to expect:
- The login page will have a new look.
- You will be required to login with your username followed by @uoguelph.ca or @guelphhumber.ca, instead of only your username.

April 27 (postponed from Feb. 27): Multi-Factor Authentication – Improved Security for Microsoft Authenticator App Users
As of April 27, when you verify your identity through the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone as part of the sign-in process, a two-digit code will be displayed on the login screen. Enter that two-digit code in the app to proceed with the login process.
Those who use SMS text, a security token or other tools for MFA will not be impacted by this change.
