Dr. Evan Fraser, the director of the Arrell Food Institute, recently discussed the future of agricultural technology in a symposium hosted by The Globe and Mail.

“We have to realize that the farmer of the future is just as likely to wear a lab coat as they are to drive a tractor,” Fraser said, noting the role new technologies will play in agriculture’s future.

As well as a professor in the Department of Geography, Environment & Geomatics, Fraser helps lead the Food from Thought initiative and is the Canada Research Chair in Global Food Security, studying food security, rural agricultural policy and how each is affected by climate change.
