Sustainable biomaterials researcher Dr. Amar Mohanty discussed his research with biomaterials as well as his Biju Patnaik Award for Scientific Excellence for 2019 with The Times of India.  

Mohanty, who is the director of the Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre at U of G, spoke about the future of bioplastics and plastic waste and said he was honoured to have received the award. 

The OAC Distinguished Research Chair in Sustainable Biomaterials and a professor in both the Department of Plant Agriculture and the School of Engineering, Mohanty researches biomaterials and biofuels, biorefinery and sustainability.
