Coming Soon: The New Lincoln Alexander Student Service Centre

A new one-stop service centre named for a much respected and loved former chancellor will enable U of G students to access admission, enrolment and financial services more easily and efficiently.

“U of G students had an important voice in our updated service approach,” says Ray Darling, University registrar. “Our consultation with student groups across the University helped us better understand students’ needs and how they want to interact with us so we can give them the best experience possible.”

The new centre on the third floor of the University Centre will provide simplified access to supports from the Office of Registrarial Services. By consolidating services from three separate units – admissions, enrolment and finance – the centre will see prospective and current students and alumni paying fewer visits, accomplishing more in less time. Wait times will be decreased through tech improvements and expanded self-service options.

The facility will open later this spring as The Lincoln Alexander Student Service Centre – or “The Linc” for short. The Linc’s modern and inviting design creates a more welcoming and efficient space to serve students, says Darling.

“We’re so excited to name our student service centre after chancellor emeritus Lincoln Alexander. He selflessly devoted his life to promoting education, equity and service to others. I can think of no other individual who better embodies the ethos of our new centre.”
