Dr. Meghan McMurtry, a professor in the Department of Psychology, co-authored a commentary for The Globe and Mail about the need for appropriate language when discussing vaccine uptake and hesitancy.

Co-written with Prof. Anna Taddio from the University of Toronto’s FAculty of Pharmacy and Prof. Noni MacDonald from Dalhousie University’s Department of Pediatrics and IWK Health Centre, the commentary notes that “words matter” when discussing and administering the new COVID-19 vaccines.

McMurtry is a clinical and health psychologist with the Pediatric Chronic Pain Program at McMaster Children’s Hospital and an associate scientist at the Children’s Health Research Institute.
