A Globe and Mail article features results of the U of G-led 2019 annual report of the Canadian Femicide Observatory for Justice and Accountability (CFOJA).

The annual #CallItFemicide report  provides statistics and insights into the killing of women and girls in Canada.

The CFOJA report found a women or girl is killed every three days in Canada with a total of 118 women and girls murdered across the country in 2019.

Prof. Myrna Dawson, Department of Sociology and Anthropology and CFOJA director, is quoted in the story saying the latest statistics reinforce the need to address gender-based violence in Canada.
