Prof. Simon Somogyi, the Arrell Chair in the Business of Food at U of G, spoke with The Globe and Mail about the revival of Dickie Dee ice cream bikes to deliver high-end summertime treats.
The article notes that several small businesses are skipping traditional retail or restaurant spaces and turning instead to ice-cream bikes to reach customers.
Somogyi commented that part of the appeal of the bikes is that they play on warm memories of childhood and also help with branding, which he says is key for food businesses.
