Prof. Robin R. Milhausen, associate chair of U of G’s Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, spoke to O, The Oprah Magazine about the five kinds of “love languages.”
Milhausen said understanding what kind of displays of affection your partner prefers — whether it’s gifts, small gestures or physical touch – is key to a strong relationship.
“Knowing your love language can be one of the single most important things in a relationship,” she said.
Milhausen also recently spoke with O magazine about why separate interests and hobbies are good for marriages and relationships.
Milhausen studies human sexuality and couple relationships, investigating the factors that inhibit and enhance sexual desire, such as body image and relationship duration.
