Prof. Norm O’Reilly

Prof. Norm O’Reilly co-authored a Sept. 22 opinion piece in the Calgary Herald about whether Calgarians should vote yes or no on Nov. 13 for a proposed 2026 Olympic bid.

O’Reilly, assistant dean and professor of executive programs at U of G, and co-author David Finch, professor and associate director at the Mount Royal University Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, say hosting the Olympics could affect Calgary for decades. They discuss pros and cons and a breakdown of costs should Calgary win an Olympic bid.

A leading scholar in the business of sports, O’Reilly studies analytics, marketing, sponsorship, social media, sport finance, social marketing, tourism management and management education.
