School of Environmental Sciences post-doctoral researcher Alana Pindar was interviewed by CTV News Channel Jan. 12. She discussed the recent move by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to designate the rusty patch bumblebee as endangered. Its population has fallen by 90 per cent, and it is the first bumblebee to be listed as endangered in the U.S. Pindar discussed the potential implications of near-extinction for important pollinators. She studies bees and pollinator conservation.
