Guelph police and U of G campus community police are gearing up for bicycle safety to reduce the number of collisions involving cyclists. On Sept. 29 from 8 to 10:30 a.m., they will be stopping cyclists on the corner of Gordon and McGilvray Streets as part of the Bicycle S.P.A.C.E Program (Safety, Prevention, Awareness, Courtesy and Education). Police will provide cyclists with information about bicycle safety and the law, as well as inspect bicycles for proper equipment and maintenance. The Central Student Association’s Bike Centre will also provide free bicycle adjustments.
