Last month, U of G students raised more than $1,600 to help rebuild schools in Joplin, Missouri, that were damaged by a tornado in May. The students visited the town during this year’s Midwest Tour, an annual two-week field trip to farms and industries in the American Midwest led by Prof. Clarence Swanton, Department of Plant Agriculture. Donations came from students, the department, and the Ontario Agricultural College dean’s office.
