DESCRIPTION:Prud’homme Beer Certification is a beer sommelier program that was created in 2009 to meet the growing demand for beer knowledge. This multi-level beer education course has something to offer everyone from the beer aficionado to the hospitality professional. \nThe School of Hospitality\, Food and Tourism Management is offering the “Level 1 – Beer Enthusiast” course in February and June 2017. The four-week introductory course will begin on Feb. 5 and run for four consecutive Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. at Macdonald Stewart Hall. \nThis introductory course in beer education is designed for participants interested in furthering their knowledge and interest in beer. The focus will be on brewing ingredients and processes\, tasting concepts\, pouring and serving concepts (including an introduction to draught systems) and food and beer pairings. \nFor more information and to register\, please visit the school’s beer education website. The registration deadline for the February session is Jan. 23. University of Guelph students\, faculty\, staff and alumni receive a 10 per cent discount. \n
