DESCRIPTION:Graduate Student University Teaching Day is a teaching development day for grad students to improve their teaching skills and build connections with other instructors at the University of Guelph. This will be the first annual Graduate Student University Teaching Day (GSUTD)\, which replaces the Graduate Student University Teaching Conference (GSUTC). \nChoose from two concurrent workshop sessions. Each attendee will participate in a total of four workshops throughout the day. You will also hear from experienced educators in a “Spotlight Speaker Series” and a “Microteaching Masters.” \nRead the complete schedule and descriptions and register on the OpenEd website. \nAfter you register\, an email will be sent to you with a link to a Qualtrics survey to finish your registration and select your four workshops. Please be sure to complete this survey. \nPlease note: Registration will be capped at 150 participants. There will be a waiting list in the event that spots become available. DESCRIPTION:Participants will have the opportunity to engage in an eight-week program that explores the principles of Ecopsychology and Eco Art Therapy. Walking through this program\, participants gradually gain a deeper sense of self-value\, one’s relationship with nature\, and a desire to engage with Nature as a trusted and valued aspect of one’s own life. \nThe Ecopsychological focus here will be to open yourself to direct experiences within nature and rely on a reciprocation of experiences where you will allow Nature to gently guide your awareness through your senses. You will be challenged to learn from Nature’s wisdom in the absence of words and languages and simply rely on your non-language based senses. You will be amazed by how and what Nature reveals to you through such an approach. You will discover how Nature truly exemplifies ‘unconditional love\,’ and how we can take lessons for our own lives. \nIn each session\, participants will be introduced to new concepts that they will then apply to practical activities\, then reflect both collectively and individually. This course will also explore Eco-Art activities that go beyond the barriers of artistic techniques.
