DESCRIPTION:Join the Morwick G360 Groundwater Research Institute for World Water Day 2022 at the University of Guelph! The theme for this year is Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible. Join us for a campus-wide and community event! \nRegistration is mandatory for both in-person and virtual attendance. There is no cost for this event. \nGroundwater provides 30% of Canada’s water supply and more than half of all drinking water worldwide\, but little is known about this critically important resource\, and it is threatened by contamination\, overuse\, and climate change. To bring awareness to this vital but unseen resource\, the United Nations has declared 2022 the year of groundwater\, dedicating its annual World Water Day event to Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible. We invite you to join us on March 22 to amplify the importance of sustainable groundwater management. \nMore information\, including call for posters\, speakers\, and the full agenda can be found on the Morwick G360 Groundwater Research Institute website.

SUMMARY:Arboretum Workshop: The Art and Practice of Pruning
DESCRIPTION:This half-day indoor/outdoor practical workshop teaches the principles of easy and correct pruning in the home landscape. Participants learn how to choose the right equipment and how to keep it sharp and clean. Pruning techniques will be shown and practiced on a variety of shrubs and small trees. \nFee: $60 (plus HST) per person if booked before the early bird deadline of Monday\, March 14\, 2022. After the early bird deadline the fee is $70 (plus HST). \nIn-person – Proof of vaccination required.
