SUMMARY:Data Skills Workshop: Creating Data - APIs
DESCRIPTION:APIs have emerged as a new form of delivering data to end users. APIs enable individuals to issue specialized requests from data sources in real time. This power and flexibility enables new approaches to data use. \nIn this workshop\, we’ll give you an introduction to one of the most common kinds of API\, the REST API. We’ll interact with a number of APIs along the way toward our final goal of the Twitter API. No coding or engineering degrees required. By the end of the workshop you’ll know everything you need to start exploring other REST APIs. \nPlease bring a laptop computer for your own use during the workshop. Please make sure that you have the Insomnia application installed. \nPlease note: All software installation must be done before the workshop. Please ensure that you followed any account creation or software installation instructions. We will not be able to troubleshoot software set up during class time. \nMcLaughlin Library\, Room 289
