DESCRIPTION:Dates / Times: Friday\, Aug. 19 – 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturday\, Aug. 20 – 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.\nLocation: Guelph Turfgrass Institute\nCost:  Free\n\nThe Guelph Turfgrass Institute and the Department of Plant Agriculture at the University of Guelph are pleased to invite the public to the 2016 Trial Garden open house at the Guelph Turfgrass Institute at 328 Victoria Road South in Guelph.\n\nVisit anytime during the two days to visit the trials and see the new annuals and perennials that will be in the marketplace in the coming years and\, as always\, vote on your favourites.  There is also a small vegetable trial patch with some new eggplants\, peppers and tomatoes; as long as supplies last there will be opportunities for taste testing.\n\nThere will be the opportunity to participate in a consumer preference study run by a researcher from the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre.  Help us discover what flower colours\, flower patterns and plant textures people like. DESCRIPTION:Location:  Gordon and McGilvray Sts. \nDate: Tuesday\, Sept. 14 \nTime: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. \nCyclists enter a safety zone in the bike lane and are greeted by an officer who quickly inspects their bicycle for Highway Traffic Act required safety equipment. If the cyclist is missing something (most times there is no sounding device\, like a bell on the bicycle) the officer will explain the need for that piece of safety equipment. There is no enforcement during the SPACE events as the intent is to educate the cyclist. The cyclist is then given a brochure explaining the SPACE program and other ‘nice to know’ information about bicycle safety.  There are also free handouts like coupons to on campus retailers or bicycle shop coupons as a ‘thank you’ for participating in the event.
