DESCRIPTION:Attention Watercolour Artists! Learn to take your watercolours outside and capture simple landscapes by what you see. \nCandice will show techniques to create beautiful compositions\, how to draw quickly and simplify what you see to create beautiful plein air paintings. Supply List will be emailed. Registrants must be age 14+. \nSupplies:\nYour favourite Watercolour Supplies – Brushes\, Paints\, Palette\, Rags\, Watercolour Paper\, Water container. \nPencil\, Sharpener and Eraser \nSun Protection/Hydration/BugProtection \nA way to carry your equipment (Bag or Back Pack) \nDon’t forget to bring water to paint with! A Large water bottle or jug with lid is perfect *You don’t need to have special portable or hand held supplies for painting\, but try and think about how you will set up outside and manage your supplies. We will talk about set up ideas\, but keep in mind you will need to be able to hold your palette while painting\, or have a small foldable table\, chair or tray to set things on. A lot of portable easels have space for these built in. \nOptional: Foldable Camping Chair or picnic blanket to sit on during demo \nPortable Easel *Be sure to have a method to attach the paper to the easel (tape or clips) and have either a solid board or be using a watercolour block or pad. *If you don’t have an easel\, a picnic blanket\, chair or board will be fine. Any way you will be comfortable to paint for an extended period of time will work. Make Yoga Part of Your Life. \nJoin the U of G community on Wednesday\, June 21\, 12 p.m. -1:30 p.m.\, to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2023 and realize the many benefits of yoga- mental\, physical\, social\, environmental\, and spiritual. IDY is the biggest yoga event of the year and is celebrated throughout the world on the summer solstice\, June 21. All are welcome at this inclusive event. \nThe IDY event will be celebrated in nature under the open sky on the historic and picturesque Johnston Green. The event will start with an hour of yoga practice\, including asanas\, pranayama (yogic breathing)\, meditation\, mudras\, and relaxation. The practice will invigorate and relax you while bringing a sense of calm\, peace\, and overall well-being in mental and physical dimensions. \nThe yoga practice will be followed by lunch and open mic from 1 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. where anyone can share their yoga and mental health story or experience. \nBring your own nutritious and healthy lunch\, yoga mat\, and water bottle. Chairs will be provided for yoga postures adaptation. \nThe resolution for the International Day of Yoga was proposed by India and endorsed by a record 175 member states through a UN resolution. Yoga is now practiced worldwide\, giving people of all faiths and walks of life the tools and practices they need to enhance and balance their mental\, physical\, and spiritual well-being. \nNational Indigenous Peoples Day also takes place on the summer solstice\, June 21. \nRegister through Qualtrics\nThis event is sponsored by Wellness@Work\, U of G\, and presented by the U of G Yoga and Meditation Collective and the U of G Yoga Club.
