DESCRIPTION:Look and feel like a pro with SAS! SAS is a statistical software package that is widely used in many disciplines. In just a few hours you will be ready to impress friends and family with this easy to use software. \nYou will learn how to: \n\nManeuver in the SAS interface\nImport data (Part 1)\nClean data (Part 1)\nGenerate descriptive\, exploratory and simple inferential statistics (Part 2)\n\nPlease note that for this session\, we will be using the SAS University edition which features an easy to use point-and-click interface. \nThis is an introductory workshop intended for students with minimal to no knowledge of SAS. Basic knowledge and understanding of statistics would be a great asset. \nPlease bring a laptop for your own use during the workshop with SPSS installed on it. The latest version of SPSS can be downloaded for free from the CCS Software Distribution website. \nPlease note: All software installation must be done before the workshop\, please ensure you follow any account creation or software installation instructions. Out of courtesy to the class\, we will not be able to troubleshoot software set up during the class time. If you have any issues\, please contact the IT Help Desk. \nRegister online.

DESCRIPTION:Mr. Vikas Swarup\, High Commissioner of India to Canada and author of Q&A\, adapted as the multiple Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire\, will give talk at U of G titled Gandhi and the Quest for Truth. \n5 p.m. – Reception\n6 p.m. – Talk \nRSVP online.\nShuttle to the venue at 5 p.m. from UC bus loop. \nMr. Swarup will speak about the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi in the 21st century. He will examine Gandhi’s concept of truth and the impact of social media and fake news in today’s world. Using examples from Gandhi’s own life and his experiments with truth\, the talk will highlight the importance of the individual self at the heart of all political enterprise and public life. It will also touch upon elements of Mahatma Gandhi’s environmental philosophy\, his model for sustainable development and the basis of his ideal society Sarvodaya.
