DESCRIPTION:Looking for a statistics tune-up using SPSS? Come to the sixth workshop in our 11-part series to teach you the basics! In SPSS micro 6: Independent samples t-test\, you will learn the data type required for the test\, check the assumptions for the test\, and conduct both an independent samples t-test and a Wilcoxon signed-rank test! \nPrior knowledge of SPSS is not required. Prior knowledge of statistics is not required. If you have no knowledge of SPSS or statistics\, attending workshops #1 and #2 is highly recommended to orient you to these topics. \nYou do not need to attend every session 🙂 if you miss a session or want additional support\, you can check the SPSS LibGuide (written by the instructor). \nNOTE: This workshop will be held online via Teams. This workshop is open to U of G students\, staff\, and faculty. You MUST have a University of Guelph e-mail (ending in either @guelphhumber.ca or @uoguelph.ca) to register and participate in this workshop. As an e-mail will be sent to all registered attendees the morning of the workshop\, registration closes 6 hours before the workshop.

SUMMARY:Workplace Writing Series: Writing a Project Planning Framework
DESCRIPTION:Discover a framework for solving problems in work and in life! In this session\, you will work alongside your peers to develop strategies for articulating problems and providing solutions in writing. \nThis workshop will be facilitated by Ian McGinty. Ian brings extensive knowledge of business and leadership. At General Motors\, Ian progressed to leading employee relations for over 8\,500 employees. GM sponsored completing his undergrad degree in Industrial Administration (5 years co-op) and in the evening he completed an MBA degree. Recruited by Johnson & Johnson\, he held vice president roles in human resources\, continuous improvement\, operations\, strategy and shared services. He led the J&J family of companies HR council and was promoted to a global employee engagement role. Subsequently\, he joined Bruce Power to lead all people programs and most recently with a local brewer. He is a past board member of the HR Association and current board member at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. Ian teaches at the University of Guelph and has facilitated programs with the HRPA\, IIBA and McMaster University. He consults with Boundless Accelerator\, the Canadian Professional Management Association\, Accelerator Guelph and consults privately in both the private and public sector. \nAttendees to this event will be provided with light dinner. \nQuestions?
