SUMMARY:The Bigger Picture Series Presents: A Taste For Change
DESCRIPTION:Court Desautels will share his personal journey as a change maker in the restaurant industry. \nHe is president of The Neighbourhood Group of Companies\, which includes the Woolwich Arrow Pub\, Borealis Grille & Bar\, and Miijidaa Cafe + Bistro\, three of the top-rated restaurants in Guelph. His passion for hospitality started at 14 when he began working in kitchens around Guelph and Toronto. He later attended George Brown College where he received a diploma in business management. His work experience since then has included serving as event coordinator for Sleeman Breweries\, managing restaurants in Australia and spinning vinyl at various clubs along the way. \nDespite all of his hospitality experience\, Desautels’ true passion is to create the most sustainable restaurant group in Canada and help pave the way for how restaurants do business in the future. Attendees will gain an understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) through his personal story and how even in the restaurant industry\, a large organization can still strive for CSR without compromising quality. When The Neighbourhood Group of Companies became B Corp certified\, they became the largest certified restaurant company in the world. \nLocation: Macdonald Hall\, Room 232
