DESCRIPTION:The Centre for Cardiovascular Investigations will launch a Distinguished Scientist Lecture series with nationally renowned cardiologist Dr. Gavin Oudit. \nA staff cardiologist and clinician-scientist at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute\, University of Alberta\, he will focus his talk on “Translational Approaches for Novel Heart Failure Therapies: Time for Personalized Medicine?” \nHis presentation will begin with an introduction by Malcolm Campbell\, vice-president research\, University of Guelph. \nOudit’s research activities are diverse with a primary emphasis on heart failure and arrhythmias. His clinical activity focuses on heart failure\, which includes patients with iron-overload cardiomyopathy\, Fabry’s disease\, metabolic disorders and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy.
